Today I woke up

One day I woke up,
I woke up from a deep sleep,
A sleep that over took me many years ago,
But I woke up,
I seen the light shining through the window,
It seemed like forever sense I felt the sun,
The window was open,
A light breeze shook my curtain,
The sound of the air buzzing through the crack,
Vibrating the blinds,
I was awake again,
There was a smell in the air,
Strong and fragrant,
The smell was the earth,
Last night it must of rained,
I was still awake,
I pulled myself into a standing postion,
No more laying down for me,
I stood there,
The weakness trying to take me back,
But I fought it and I will continue to fight,
I am in control of this,
I cannot sleep anymore,
Today I woke up.
