The sun rose
Bright light glowing above the mountains snow
The wind was rushing
With loud roars
Calling to me
Wake up
The air was crisp as I opened my door
First breath filling my lungs with regret
An outpouring of air
Streaming out of my mouth
Carrying wisps of steam into the air
Will today be it
The beginning of the end
The start of the new season
Is this chapter finally over
Leaves blow past my feet
They pick each other up and dance
Spinning in circles
The winds music pushing them together
Then
They fall to the ground
Perfectly still
The wind goes silent
The air gets warmer
I breathe and close my eyes
Beep Beep Beep
Suddenly I am in my bed
Alarm blaring in my head.
I contemplate my lost day
It was going to be beautiful
The day that never happened.
